1. About These Terms

These terms set out the basis on which Selat Atlas provides business consulting services. By engaging our services or using our website, you agree to these terms. Please read them before proceeding.

Selat Atlas operates from Level 9, Wisma Sanyan, 1 Jalan Sanyan, 96000 Sibu, Sarawak, Malaysia. You can reach us at [email protected].

2. Our Services

Selat Atlas provides business consulting services in the areas of feasibility assessment, business plan development, and market entry analysis. Our services are informational and advisory in nature. We help clients organise information, think through options, and produce structured documents for their own use.

Our work does not constitute legal, financial, accounting, or investment advice. We do not hold any regulated professional licence that would authorise us to provide advice in those fields. Clients should seek appropriately qualified professionals for regulated matters.

The scope of each engagement is agreed at the outset. Work outside that scope requires a separate agreement.

3. Engagement and Payment

An engagement begins when both parties confirm the scope in writing and an initial payment is made. Our current service fees are:

Payment terms are specified in the engagement confirmation. Where payment is made in instalments, work proceeds in accordance with the agreed schedule tied to those payments.

Fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit and are subject to applicable taxes. Fees are not refundable once work on a deliverable has commenced, except where we have failed to deliver what was agreed.

4. Confidentiality

We treat all information shared by clients as confidential. We will not disclose client information to third parties except where required by law or where you have given permission.

We may use anonymised, non-identifiable information about the nature of our engagements for internal quality improvement purposes and for general description of our work experience.

5. Intellectual Property

Deliverables produced for a client — such as feasibility notes, business plans, and market entry reports — become the client's property upon full payment of agreed fees.

Our methodologies, templates, frameworks, and general working materials remain our intellectual property. Clients may use deliverables for their own business purposes but may not resell or licence them to others without our written consent.

6. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information relevant to the engagement. The quality of our work depends on the quality of the information provided. We are not responsible for outcomes that arise from incomplete or inaccurate client inputs.

Clients are also responsible for making their own decisions about how to act on the outputs of our work. Our deliverables are inputs to your decision-making, not decisions made on your behalf.

7. Limitation of Liability

Our work is advisory and informational. We make no representations about business outcomes, financial performance, or the suitability of any course of action for your specific circumstances.

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, our liability in connection with any engagement is limited to the fees paid for that specific engagement. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or speculative losses.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud or for any matter where exclusion is not permitted by law.

8. Cancellation

Either party may cancel an engagement before work commences, with written notice. If work has commenced, fees are payable for the proportion of work completed at the time of cancellation.

We reserve the right to pause or discontinue work if a client fails to provide required information or payments within agreed timelines.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from an engagement or these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, with Sarawak as the primary seat where applicable.

10. Website Use

The content on our website is provided for general information purposes. We take reasonable care with accuracy but do not warrant that the website is free from errors or that it will be available without interruption.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available at this address. Continued use of the website or our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
