From Those Who've Worked With Us

RC

Rajan Chandran

Small business owner, Sibu

I came in with an idea that felt solid but I couldn't quite articulate why it would work financially. The feasibility session forced me to put numbers around my assumptions, and a couple of them didn't hold up. That was uncomfortable but useful. The note summarised everything clearly and I still refer back to it.

Fong Yee Lin

Director, Kuching-based firm

We needed a business plan to present to a bank and wanted something better than what we'd put together internally. The process took about three weeks and the document they produced was clearly written and properly structured. The bank had questions but none about the plan itself, which was what we wanted. The timeline was a bit tight on their side near the end but they managed it.

Operations manager, Bintulu

We were looking at entering a new segment and wanted a study that would tell us whether it was actually viable, not just confirm what we already thought. The team gathered data we hadn't looked at and the entry roadmap they put together identified a sequencing we wouldn't have thought of. Straightforward to work with throughout.

Founder, Sibu

The feasibility session changed the direction of my idea quite significantly. Not because it was a bad idea, but because the session helped me see which part of it was actually viable and which part I was attached to for the wrong reasons. I ended up pursuing a smaller version of the original concept and it's been working well since.

Kelvin Ho Jian Wei

SME owner, Miri

I'd been through business planning processes before and found them either too generic or too complicated. This was neither. The sessions were focused, the questions were practical, and the document they produced was written in a way I could actually give to my business partner without having to explain most of it. Good value for what's included.

Liew Boon Siew

Managing director, Sarawak

We commissioned the market entry study for a segment we'd been thinking about for a while. What we got back was more honest about the competition than we expected — they didn't soften the findings to make the recommendation easier. In the end we adjusted our entry timeline based on what the study found, which was probably the right call.

How the Work Played Out

Case Study 01 · Retail Food Business

The Situation

A founder in Sibu was planning to open a specialty food outlet targeting working adults. She had a location in mind and a rough product concept but hadn't assessed the demand or run through the numbers in any detail.

What We Did

We ran a feasibility session, working through foot traffic patterns for the intended location, average spend benchmarks for comparable outlets in Sibu, and startup cost assumptions. The session surfaced a significant underestimation of fit-out costs.

The Outcome

The founder revised her fit-out budget upward and reduced her initial menu scope to lower startup costs. She opened six months later with a more realistic financial position and reported that the feasibility note had been useful in conversations with her landlord about fit-out terms.

"The session made me think harder about the numbers before I committed. I'm glad I didn't skip it."

Case Study 02 · Logistics Company Expansion

The Situation

An established logistics operator based in Bintulu was considering expanding into a new service tier requiring additional vehicles and staff. Directors wanted a clear picture of whether the returns justified the capital before approaching a lender.

What We Did

We developed a full business plan covering the expanded service model, revenue assumptions based on existing contract data, and a financial projection over three years. The plan included scenarios for different utilisation rates and flagged the break-even point clearly.

The Outcome

The directors used the plan in discussions with a local bank. The lender approved financing for a reduced fleet size, which the plan had actually modelled as the more prudent starting point. The company has since expanded to the full intended capacity on its own cash flow.

"The document was ready to hand over. No need to explain or apologise for how it was put together."

Case Study 03 · Professional Services Entry

The Situation

A Peninsula-based consulting firm was exploring whether to establish a presence in Sarawak. They had limited knowledge of the local market and wanted an independent view of the opportunity before committing any resources.

What We Did

We conducted a market entry study covering the competitive landscape in Sibu and Kuching, client acquisition pathways specific to Sarawak, regulatory and licensing considerations, and a phased entry approach starting with minimal fixed costs.

The Outcome

The firm used the roadmap to structure a pilot entry using a local associate arrangement rather than establishing a standalone office. Within 12 months, they had built enough of a client base in Sarawak to justify a more permanent presence.

"The study gave us something concrete to plan from, rather than just our assumptions about a market we didn't know well."
